This my friends is why I do not eat dairy and preach to my patients to do the same. “What foods should I avoid to improve my skin?” is the most common question I encounter in practice. You may have already heard about dairy being a problematic, breakout-triggering food for many people, and I could not agree more. Many published studies available show a correlation between dairy intake and various skin problems--especially acne. There is also evidence that shows skin improvement in subjects who quit eating dairy. I am one of those who have experienced significant skin improvements by quitting dairy. It is not even a quality issue (organic vs. conventional). Therefore, if you were on the fence whether to quit or not to quit consuming dairy products, I would recommend trying to go dairy-free for at least four weeks and pay attention to skin changes!
